Hello there! I’m Daisy, an adventurous soul originally hailing from Himachal Pradesh, India. Alongside my husband, Navdeep, I run this interesting website – AbodeAlley.com – that I am glad to see you on!
My journey to starting AbodeAlley.com was not as straightforward as it might seem. Instead, this website is a result of numerous decisions, uncountable actions, and many cherrishable experiences from my past.
Let me quickly take you through that interesting journey!
The Beginning
My story began in the beautify hills of Himachal Pradesh, where I grew up and developed interest in pursuing Electronics and Commuications Engineering.
This interest took me to Punjab Technical University to pursue my undergrad, and it was during my undergrad that I co-founded IndiaText.net – a website that published free preparation material for several competitive examination – with Navdeep.
While IndiaText.net did not reach the apex we had in mind for it, it did spark a passion for content creation in me. It was this passion for content creation that led me to create several different websites over the years, with DataScienceNerd.com being the largest one.
So, while AbodeAlley.com was created in 2023, the seed for it was planted back in 2008, when IndiaText.net was first conceptualized.
My Professional Path
Post completing my Bachelors in Electronics and Communications Engineering, I accepted a full time role with a Technology Company, and stayed there for well over 7 years.
In those 7+ years, I worked for clients in a wide range of industries, ranging from telecom and broadband service providers to large utility companies and financial institutions. (Alongside my educational background in Electronics and Communications Engineering, it is exposure to this service industry, which revolves around home owners and renters, that I believe will allow me to create unique value for our readers at AbodeAlley.com.)
Then, in 2019, I moved to United States and took a brief career break to focus on DataScienceNerd.com, and ended up pursuing Masters in Data Analytics from San Jose State University from 2021 to 2023.
How AbodeAlley.com Began?
Ever since we took IndiaText.net offline, Navdeep and I went our way to work on several different websites. Among several others, he went out to create TradeVeda.com, and I focused much of my efforts on DataScienceNerd.com.
Even though we both enjoy working on those website projects and are very actively involved in running those even today, we wanted to work on a common project that we can both contribute towards and partner on.
And, that’s basically how AbodeAlley.com was born!
Before landing on AbodeAlley.com, we did consider several other niches to create a website on, but home management niche was what resonated with both of us.
Other Interests and Hobbies
When not working on AbodeAlley.com, you would see me exploring (and, even blogging about) the latest developments in the world of Data Science and Analytics. This hobby of mine really helps me given the fact that my full time job is in Data Science/Analytics. (Yep, that was a pretty important detail that I missed to include above.)
When it comes to things that are purely fun, I am very regular on exploring different hiking trails in the beautiful bay area. I am on path to finishing every popular trail in the San Fransisco Bay Area, and will update you in a future blog on how that journey went. 🙂
