Hey, you! Thank you for visiting AbodeAlley.com. We are so glad to have you here. It’s Daisy and Navdeep this side.
We are a San Jose, California based husband-wife duo that created AbodeAlley.com. While we have both been very active in blogging and content creation space for years, never did we once thought about starting a website in a Home management or related niche until 2023, which is when we started AbodeAlley.com.
That being said, from our viewpoint, AbodeAlley.com is perhaps the most interesting among all websites that we have created to date, and yes – we have created a ton of these niche websites.
AbodeAlley.com sits at the confluence of many different interests of ours. Plus, we feel extremely confident about the content we post on this website given –
- our experience of dealing with issues that we personally encountered living in 20+ houses over the last 10 years
- our educational background in engineering that makes us a practical expert to talk about a variety of different home management subjects
- And, our professional journey that gave us exposure to authoritatively discuss several home management topics.
Working towards solving problems that we have personally experienced for our readers is beyond energizing to both of us. Plus, the chance to work on something together after years, made the decision to start this website extremely easy for both of us.
We are excited to have you visit this page to learn more about our journey. In sections below, you would find glimpses of our journey and our vision for AbodeAlley.com.
In case there are any specific details you would like to know about, or simply would like to say hello, further down in the contact us section you will find everything you need to get in touch with us!
Our Journey To Date, and Our Inspiration Behind Starting AbodeAlley.com
Daisy and I (Navdeep) first met in 2007, after we started attending engineering school at Punjab Technical University, India. Daisy did her Bachelors in Electronics and Communications Engineering, and I did by Bachelore in Mechanical Engineering.
In a way, the foundation stone of our path to creating AbodeAlley.com was laid while we were in engineering school. This foundation stone was IndiaText.net – a website that we jointly started working on in 2008 and launched in 2010. This website was focused on creating free preparation material for several competitive examinations that we found our classmates in engineering school preparing for diligently.
IndiaText.net is not live any longer. As we grew, our interests diversified. We definitely relished the experience of creating this website from scratch. Plus, learnings from this experience shaped many future decisions in our life. But it was 2014 when we stopped adding any additional content to IndiaText.net and finally in 2016 we took it completely offline.
From that point, we created many different websites and blogs. TradeVeda.com is the biggest website that I worked on, and DataScienceNerd.com would be Daisy’s largest creation. So, IndiaText.net definitely lit a spark that made us continue working in content creation space, and that was one important element from our past that led to the creation of AbodeAlley.com.
But, why AbodeAlley.com? And, why this niche versus the million other topics that we could have created a website on…
Tust us! We had this very same questions, and the answer to this question lies in three broad filters we used before landing on this niche. These were:
- Relevant Real World Experience
- Domain Expertise
- Common Interest
Let me briefly shed some light on all three of these!
Relevant Real World Experience
When creating quality content that readers can trust, there is no replacement for real world experiences. For that reason, having real world experience in the topic that our website would focus on was the very first filter that we used.
While home management, on the surface, seems like something that most people would have exposure to – at least the ones fortunate enough to have a house to live in – in reality the situation could be very different.
For example, houses in places with snowy winter like central Pennsylvania need very different care from houses in sunny California. Similar nuances come into play when houses are built with different cultural influences and inspirations. Hence, home management is rarely a one size fit all sort of domain.
Lucky for us, collectively, over the last 10 years, Daisy and I have had the opportunity to live in 20+ houses in four different countries on three different continents. This has given us some really good exposure to understanding and sharing the nuances of house management under different circumstances.
Hence, being able to speak from our personal experiences and understand the needs of a broad reader base was the first and most important reason for choosing this niche.
Domain Expertise
Similar to relevant real world experiences to speak from, there is no replacement to domain expertise to create factually accurate and engaging content. Hence, domain expertise became our second filter for niche selection.
Domain expertise is something we felt extremely confident about when we decided to create content in the house management niche.
I believe the diversity of our experiences, both professional and educational, puts us at a unique spot to cover a wide array of house management topics.
For example, I hold a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and started my full-time career with a large construction company as a project manager. This experience alone makes me an expert on a variety of home management topics.
Similarly, Daisy did her Bachelors in Electronics and Communications Engineering, and has worked for clients in Utility and Telecom space, giving her a very thorough and deep perspective on talking authoratatively about the topics that I don’t know too well about.
These are just few quick snippets from our background, but, in broad terms, it was this expertise that made us further interested in creating this website in the home management niche.
Common Interests
Last, but from our perspective, perhaps the most important filter to consider when creating a website is how interested one is in the topic of that website. This is where home management as a niche really stood out to us.
In deciding the niche for our website venture, we needed the niche to be something that we are both interested in and feel passionate about. We both have a variety of interests and areas of expertise. But it was the home management that we found to be at the confluence of our common interests, and the one that resonated the most for both of us, thus meeting our third and the final filter.
And, in short: this is how AbodeAlley.com was created!

The Pillars of AbodeAlley.com: Meet the Creators of AbodeAlley.com
Meet Daisy
Hi, there! Daisy this side. I am a Data Science/Analytics professional by my day job, and home management has long been an interest and passion of mine.
Having lived in several different houses and house types across the globe, I have experienced my share of home management issues. With facing (and, eventually solving) those issues came some really cool learnings. By sharing these learnings I believe I can make home management a lot simpler for some of you out there, and that was my biggest inspiration behind starting AbodeAlley.com.
Looking forward to transforming this small website into a community, and reliable and trustworthy source of information for everything home management related in coming years.
Meet Navdeep
Hi! My name is Navdeep, and by day job, I am Product Management professional. If you asked me a couple of years back if AbodeAlley.com would be the website that I create, I would have probably laughed at the idea.
Creating helpful content is something that I have always felt passionate about, but the home management niche is not something that crossed my mind until recently.
Having lived in a variety of different houses, and with home management being a topic of contant discussion between Daisy and I, its no surprise that AbodeAlley.com was formed. With our unique experiences and background, I am very positive that we can create a ton of value for our readers at AbodeAlley.com, and that is what I am planning to focus on the most – creating helpful content.
Why You Can Trust Us?
The internet today is flooded with a countless articles on any topic you can think off. Hence, every single article that we publish competes with thousands of other articles for your eyeballs. So, why should you read our content versus that offered by thousands of other websites?
The answer to this question lives in 5 simple, yet powerful, factors:
- Our Research and Fact Checking: Research and fact checking are things that most good publishing businesses perform, but we take this standard practice a bit further. When researching and fact checking on a topic, we use information only from the most credible and reliable resources out there. This includes research published by various government agencies or well-cited and peer-reviewed scholarly articles. Hence, you can be rest assured that any information that you read on AbodeAlley.com has gone through a very through research and fact checking process.
- Our Educational Background: Our educational background in engineering gives us the foundational knowledge and framework to research and to understand the nuances associated with a variety of household issues. This includes concepts ranging from advanced chemistry that goes into choosing the right carpet cleaning solution to the mechanics involved in fixing a vacuum cleaner. With our combined expertise in Mechanical and Electronics & Communications Engineering, there is a much broader spectrum of things we have the right foundation to understand and chat about, but the ones mentioned earlier are a few good examples.
- Our Professional Background: Similar to our educational background, our professional background has exposed us to concepts that are relevant to the topics that we publish on this website. For example, as a project manager for a large construction company, Navdeep has exposure to the practices and processes that large companies leverage to save millions of dollars in construction costs. These are concepts that can be easily applied to any DIY project at home. Hence, our professional exposure definitely sets us apart in bringing the most helpful content to life.
- Our Personal Experience: Having lived in 20+ houses in 4 different countries across 3 different continents, there is a ton of personal experience with home management that we leverage in our articles. This exposure alone, is something we feels sets us apart from many.
- Our Expert Interviews: When writing on a specialized topic where both our combined educational and professional backgrounds, personal experiences, and our research skills fail in creating top quality content, we leverage domain expert interviews quite extensively. Our goal is to provide you with most accurate and reliable information for your search query, and we would gladly go through any length to deliver on this goal.
Affiliate Policy
Just like any other content/publishing business, to remain operational and to continue creating value for our readers, we need to monetize our content.
To do so, we participate in several affiliate programs that may compensate us when our readers make a purchase using our referral link. However, this commission never comes at any additional cost to our readers.
Furthermore, we only participate in affiliate programs and recommend products/services that we genuinely believe to be helpful for our readers.
